There's a screw inside the left grip that adjusts tension on a plate that secures the safety. Washed in hot soapy water, rinsed with hot water, blew dry with my compressor, and reassembled lubing critical wear points and wiping down with MILITEC 1. Then I brushed all the nooks and crannies with some small brushes and then blasted them good with Brake Kleen. I tossed all the big parts in that and let then soak for about 2 hours. In my stack of stuff I have almost a full gallon can with the little basket of the Berryman's Chem-Dip carb cleaner. Inside all of that was grossly dirty too. It basically just floats in a small cavity behind the right grip. ![]() Removing the right grip allows the slide stop/release and it's uber tiny spring to come out. Took both grips off and that also entails removing the mag release and spring that are retained in position by a guide pin that passes through the butt for the grips to align on too.
